Horikiri Pass

This is one of Miyazaki’s best scenic drives, offering sweeping panoramic views of the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and its distinctive undulating rock formations. Rows of palm trees lend the spot a spacious tropical resort-like atmosphere.
As you emerge from the mountain road, a magnificent vista opens up before you in an instant—a truly breathtaking reveal. Stop by Michi-no-Eki Phoenix (a roadside station) nearby for popular local soft-serve ice cream and regional specialties, all enjoyed with the ocean spread out beneath you.
