Aya Castle

Japan's oldest mountain castle rebuilt on high ground overlooking the city

Aya Castle was built to recreate a mountain castle from approximately 680 years ago. The inside of the wooden castle has been turned into a museum. It exhibits materials to learn about the history of the city and armor and swords used by samurai active in medieval times.
