Saitobaru Burial Mounds

Japan's leading burial mounds

This is a park dotted with more than 300 burial mounds in a vast plateau. The burial mounds were built approximately 1,700 years ago. They vary in shape and size. You can also take a tour to see the inside of some of them. The park is home to a museum and a hands-on experience facility where you can learn about the ancient appearance and life of this area. The park is also famous as a cherry blossom spot. You can enjoy wonderful views because cherry blossoms and canola flowers bloom here in spring while cosmos flowers bloom here in the fall. We also recommend exploring the park with one of the free rental bicycles available.
